Het Scheepvaartmuseum occupies a monumental 17th-century warehouse on Amsterdam's eastern waterfront, built for the Admiralty of Amsterdam. Its collection covers Dutch maritime history through ship models, historic charts and navigational instruments, with a full-scale replica of the VOC vessel Amsterdam moored alongside. The building also hosts temporary exhibitions and private events.
