Vlamousse - Het Goede Voorbeeld
In their previous show, Vlamousse gave a confident middle finger to their doubts about motherhood. Now Brigitte van Bakel and Maya van As take the stage as new mothers - because they have both become mothers in the meantime.
Brigitte had a child with her husband, exactly as the picture prescribes. Maya pioneered a path to a rainbow family as a queer woman through insemination. Two completely different routes, one shared conclusion: the child itself is fantastic, but everything around it is a complete disappointment.
In "Het goede voorbeeld" they tackle the reality of young mothers with ruthless honesty and great hilarity: the childbirth class that claimed your body is made for giving birth, the idea that breastfeeding is a painless gift of nature, and the conviction that you can only be a real mother if you have given birth yourself.
The show is for new mothers, pregnant mothers, former mothers, never-mothers, queer mothers, non-biological mothers, fathers - all kinds of parents - and childless people who enjoy schadenfreude.
