Leenalchi (KOR)

Leenalchi is a South Korean group that transforms the traditional storytelling art of pansori into bass-driven soundscapes, rooted in both Korean folklore and the country's indie music scene. Led by composer Jang Young Gyu, known for his film composition work.

The group translates centuries-old narratives into contemporary sonic worlds, using rhythmic textures and mimetic Korean expressions - so-called utaeeo - that convey movement, emotion and texture beyond the literal meaning of words. Indie rock, psychedelia and cinematic composition interweave throughout, with rhythm, voice and narrative as core elements.
