About

Leenalchi is a South Korean band that fuses the traditional storytelling art of pansori with bass-driven indie rock and psychedelia. Led by film composer and bassist Jang Young Gyu - known for scoring 'Train to Busan' and 'The Wailing' - the seven-piece group translates centuries-old Korean folklore into contemporary sounds, with four pansori-trained vocalists, two bassists, and no guitar. Their music broke internationally with the viral hit 'Tiger is Coming', and their debut album SUGUNGGA (2020) won three prizes at the 18th Korean Music Awards.
