Sheer Terror + Tear Up — Podium 't Beest, Goes

Sheer Terror emerged in New York in 1984, amid a city ravaged by crime and decay. While the New York hardcore scene was dominated by straight edge crews and positive messages, frontman Paul Bearer chose a different path: booming vocals, sarcasm, and tirades that spared no one - politicians, religion, fellow musicians, the audience.

Musically, the band dragged hardcore through the mud. Heavier and filthier than almost anything else at the time, they fused hardcore punk with the brute force of metal. This approach laid the foundation for bands like Merauder and Hatebreed and for the entire beatdown scene that followed.

Over more than forty years, Sheer Terror has never tried to please a wider audience. They simply kept playing, uncompromising and resistant to hype. A show delivers exactly what you expect: crushing riffs, classics like Just Can't Hate Enough, Here to Stay and Thanks Fer Nuthin', and Paul Bearer causing as much damage between songs as during them.

Support comes from TEAR UP, a five-piece streetpunk and Oi! band from Watford (UK). They combine raw street punk, classic Oi! and hooligan rock 'n' roll, rooted in the British working class.
