Sheer Terror is a hardcore punk band from New York, formed in 1984. While much of the New York hardcore scene embraced straight edge positivity, frontman Paul Bearer went the opposite direction - raw, sarcastic and unsparing in his targets. Their heavy, metal-tinged sound influenced later acts like Hatebreed and helped shape the beatdown hardcore genre.
