Kamagurka

Kamagurka brings his two passions together at Theater De Liefde: performance and drawing. In the show Op zekere dag, story and image constantly alternate - one feeds the other, and the cartoons emerge partly through interaction with the audience.

With his absurd, idiosyncratic style, he abandons logic in favour of free association. Humour, image and performance flow seamlessly into one another in this personal solo show.

Kamagurka is the stage name of Belgian cartoonist, theatre maker and performer Luc Zeebroek. He became known in the 1970s and 1980s for his absurdist drawings in publications including the magazine Humo, and grew into a cult figure in the art and theatre world. Besides his cartoon work, he created television programmes - including Lava, with Herr Seele - and performed in films and on stage.
