Julika Marijn
In No Kidding, theatre maker Julika Marijn explores life without children - as an experienced voice and from a deeply personal perspective. She brings childlessness out of the shadows and asks the questions rarely spoken aloud: where is she, the NoMo (not-mom)? What gives her life meaning? Does she regret it, or is it a blessing?
One in five women remains childless for various reasons. No Kidding shows that a life without children can be full, free and meaningful - and that not having children is just as life-defining as having them. The show is an eye-opener for people with children too.
At Theaterfestival de Parade 2024, the production was consistently sold out. Het Parool tipped No Kidding as a gem, Trouw wrote: 'We bounce out of the tent', and de Volkskrant: 'In calm and vulnerable moments, theatre maker Julika Marijn convinces as a storyteller about not having children... beautiful song Laatstelijner...'
