Sem Konijn

A year after graduating, Sem Konijn takes to Dutch stages with his own music theatre production. Following roles in Cyrano, Scrooge and Je Anne and a Musical Award nomination, he now makes his solo debut with Populisme De Musical.
In the production, he explores the temptations of populism through political cabaret, satire, music and song - with self-mockery as a constant ingredient. Why does anger sound so good? Why does the one-liner so often beat nuance? And is hope still an act of resistance?
The production is urgent and surprisingly hopeful: a theatre evening that challenges and makes you laugh.
