Dorine Wiersma

Gaandeweg is a new music theatre production by Dorine Wiersma, where her songs and stories merge with photography. The show is personal and poetic, driven by Dorine's sharp observations, musical strength and humour.

At its heart is the work of her father, geologist, world traveller and photographer Dirk Wiersma, who passed away in February 2025. He published three photo books; his striking photographs of people, transience and everyday life are projected on large screens and form a full presence on stage. Dorine's new songs and texts connect directly to these images.

After more than twenty years performing solo, Dorine is accompanied in Gaandeweg by percussionist and harpist Wieke Garcia and bassist Jaap van Westen.
