Yawning Man (US)

Yawning Man, the influential desert/stoner rock band led by Gary Arce and Mario Lalli, performs at FLUOR. The band developed their sound in the late 1980s during generator parties in the California desert - a blend of cinematic compositions, psychedelic improvisation, and melodic darkness. Their largely instrumental approach became a major inspiration for the later Palm Desert scene.

In 2019, their seventh studio album Macedonian Lines was released via Heavy Psych Sounds. It was recorded in Joshua Tree and produced by Mathias Schneeberger, who previously worked with Mark Lanegan, Greg Dulli, SUNN O))), and Earth. The lineup on the album features Arce, Lalli, and drummer Bill Stinson.
