Yawning Man is an American desert rock band from California, founded in 1986 by guitarist Gary Arce and the Lalli cousins. Playing generator parties in the Mojave Desert in the late 1980s, they laid the groundwork for the Palm Desert scene that later produced Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age. Their largely instrumental sound blends cinematic composition with psychedelic improvisation. Their seventh studio album, Pavement Ends, was released in November 2025 on Heavy Psych Sounds Records.
