De Baron

De Baron combines anarchistic spirit with raw energy. Their eclectic sound and haunting melodies sweep you from folk sea shanties to marrying a mermaid to a fierce critique of consumerism - the band seeks its own way to make sense of life.

In recent years they've played festivals including Zwarte Cross, Oerol, the Liberation Festivals, Zomerparkfeest and the Vierdaagsefeesten. Following albums Benbiri and Bejjebang - featuring tracks like 'Aap', 'Zee' and 'Cowboy' - their third album 'BaalBek' arrives this year: a blend of Sahara rock, folk ballad and hard-hitting punk, where self-mockery, rage and hope for a brighter future converge.
