Van Cappellen Festival Friday - The Maccaferri's

The Maccaferri's open the new concert season at Van Cappellenhuis with Italo Gypsy Jazz. The band is named after Italian guitar maker Mario Maccaferri and combines Italian music with the energy of Gypsy Jazz.

Their repertoire ranges from Sicilian waltzes and Paolo Conte's Via con Me to danceable classics like Buonasera Signorina, songs from Frank Sinatra's catalogue, and arrangements of well-known film music. The band performs in theatres and at festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

The Maccaferri's consist of Hugo Sips (vocals, guitar), Jaïr Stunt (guitar), Matheus Nicolaiewsky (double bass) and Erik de Koning (violin).
