Jessica Manuputty

Jessica Manuputty grew up in Lunteren, far from the Moluccan islands her grandparents once had to leave behind. Yet they brought the music of Maluku with them: traditional folk songs, the so-called Lagu Lagu, which she sang in three-part harmony from childhood with her mother and sister.

That nostalgia for Ambon inspired her debut album TOMA! (2017) and the follow-up Toma Terus (2023). Alongside her work in the soul and pop scene - where she performed with Jett Rebel, the Metropole Orchestra and Jacob Collier - Jessica plays Moluccan repertoire with her own band in theatres and at festivals. At the end of 2024 she performed at the Ambon International Music Festival on the Moluccas themselves. She is currently working on new music to be released in 2027.

At this concert, Jessica sings and plays ukulele, accompanied by two musicians from her band.
