TABOE

TABOE is a performance about domestic violence and the effects of complex trauma - a subject that remains hidden far too often. The show looks behind closed doors, not to shock, but to understand.

The audience follows Taboe: a cheerful young woman with a good job and friends around her, but appearances can be deceiving. Her life story is traced from age seven to twenty-five. We see the family she grows up in, the impact of what she experiences, and the difficult decision she ultimately makes: choosing herself and stepping away from the violent situation. Through therapy sessions and informative scenes, the audience gains insight into trauma, its consequences, and possible paths to recovery.

From each ticket sold, € 1 goes to Het Vergeten Kind, an organization dedicated to supporting children growing up in difficult home situations. This year's contribution is earmarked for the Heppie Tour, which gives vulnerable children day trips during school holidays to theme parks, zoos, theatre performances, and museums throughout the country.
