Jörgen Raymann celebrates his 60th birthday with the Bigi Yari show Welcome Home, Where Nobody's Waiting for You - marking his return to the Dutch stage. In 2019 he ended his theatre career with a final tour; after a period away from entertainment, the itch to perform returned. In 2024 he already performed this new programme to sold-out venues in Suriname.

The show is a sequel to Even Slikken, which he performed more than twenty years ago at Theater Zuidplein. At its heart is Mister Lasmibalsingh, the Dutch-Surinamese man who wants to return to his country of origin after years abroad. He discovers that everywhere in the world he is seen as Surinamese - except in Suriname itself, where he is a tatta. How welcome is he at home?

About: Jörgen Raymann

Born in Amsterdam and raised in Suriname, Raymann built a comedy voice that bridges two worlds and kept him on Dutch stages for decades. With Bigi Yari - his 'coronation year' show - he steps back in front of Dutch audiences in 2026 for the first time since 2019.
