Ceilidh

An evening of traditional Scottish dance: the Ceilidh. Caller Carieke teaches everyone in the room the dance steps, after which it becomes a big dance party together - accompanied by the live Irish and Scottish music of Maggies Wedding.

Maggies Wedding was founded in 2011 for the wedding of Maggie, a friend of the band members. Irish music was her request, and it went over so well that the band simply continued. The repertoire consists of Irish, Scottish and English folk music - acoustic and vocal, from slow ballads to rousing jigs and reels. The line-up for this evening: Annemarie Roelink (violin/spoons), Gerrit-Jan Oonk (guitar), Tjitske Cazemier (violin), Jan Dirk Buizer (flute), Beate Hazeleger (percussion) and Peter Merry (guitar/vocals).
