De Gelderlandfabriek, Culemborg · Pay What You Can
Monthly blues sessions at Gelderlandfabriek, held every fourth Thursday of the month in collaboration with For the Road. A resident house band accompanies rotating guest artists, often creating spontaneous collaborations on stage.
The house band features three blues-circuit musicians: Harm van Essen (guitar), known from La Ratte, the Thomas Toussaint band and Greg Izor (US); drummer Paolo de Stigter from Leerdam, known from Little Hat with whom he won the Dutch Blues Challenge; and bassist and organizer Walter Wilhelm, who has played with Nathan James, Dylan Bishop and Chris Corcoran.
Previous guests have included Roel Spanjers, Boy Vielvoye, Richard van Bergen, Thomas Toussaint, Little Steve and Marlon Pichel. International artists have also performed: Greg Izor, Nathan James, Chris Corcoran, Little Victor, Kenan Ozdemir, Doghouse Sam and Shakedown Tim.
