Kisjeskearls (A Tribute to Normaal, Dialect, NL)
Kisjeskearls pay tribute to NORMAAL - not through their well-known hits, but through the deeper, lesser-known work from the legendary Dutch folk-rock band's 50-year history. The band's name is Achterhoeks dialect for peddlers who once travelled door-to-door selling goods and telling stories. Kisjeskearls do the same, but from stage to stage.
Founded in 2012, the band performs around 45 shows per year, from cafés to festival tents. They have played at Høkersweekend (5 times), Høken in Toldiek (4 times), Boerenrock festival, the unveiling of the Normaal statue in Hummelo, as support for Mooi Wark, Bὅkkers and Old Ni-js, at the Jullianagebouw 't Woold, Abe Lenstra stadium in Heerenveen, and on RTV Oost. Occasionally, former NORMAAL musicians join them, including Willem Terhorst, Paul Kemper, Jan Willem Tolkamp, Alan Cascoigne and Hendrik Haverkamp.
