Rachel Croft (Singer/Songwriter, UK)

Rachel Croft grew up in Nottingham and developed as a singer-songwriter with folk roots while studying in York. She taught herself guitar and built her career as an independent artist through busking on York's streets.

Her music is described as cinematic, indie and intense, with a touch of seventies soul. Her songs and performances have caught the attention of BBC Music, BBC Introducing, csgm blog, POPMUZIK and Liverpool Sound and Vision. Her debut single "Only Dreams" (2017) was played on BBC Radio 6 and featured on Tom Robinson's Fresh On the Net. Her debut album 'Hours Awake' followed in 2019, funded over 95% by fans worldwide, and was launched with a sold-out show at The Crescent, York. Since then, Rachel has toured regularly through the Netherlands and Germany.

Later singles - "I Said Wait" (2019), "We Are" (2020) and "Deep Water" (2020) - all received airplay on BBC Introducing. "We Are", written as commentary on politics and social media, appeared on blogs including LA on Lock and Women of Substance. Rachel has supported artists such as Skerryvore and performed at festivals including Moseley Festival and Costa Del Folk Portugal. Her work has been featured on Netflix and BBC Two, and she has performed in venues including The Bitter End (New York), The Bluebird Cafe (Nashville), Bush Hall and Camden Assembly in London, Abbey Road Studios and The Blue Room in London's O2 Arena. Recent festival appearances include Secret Garden Party and Black Deer (UK), Toxoplasmose (Switzerland) and Festival à Toute Heure (Paris). Her music on YouTube has over 160,000 plays.
