Old Ni-js

Old Ni-js returns to Café de Cactus for what has become an annual tradition. The ensemble was formed in 2000, the jubilee year of Normaal, with their first performance in Woold, a neighbourhood of Winterswijk. Since then, the musicians have gathered yearly to perform hit songs from the repertoire of Normaal and Boh Foi Toch, supplemented with their own material.

Line-up 2027:
Drums and vocals: Han Mali (also known from Boh Foi Toch)
Bass and vocals: Willem Terhorst (also known as Wimke van Diene - Normaal, Knasters)
Guitar, accordion, harmonica and vocals: Jan Kolkman (formerly Normaal, Heinoos, Knasters)
Guitar and vocals: Ferdi Jolij (also known as Frederik Pundroad, formerly Normaal/BFT)

Together, the four musicians represent more than 160 years of experience. They belong to the generation that shaped Dutch pop in the 1960s through bands such as Blitz Wending, Puddingh, SSST, Knasters, Boh Foi Toch and Normaal. Old Ni-js started as a trio with Jan Manschot (in memoriam), Ferdi Jolij and Willem Terhorst. Later, Gerard de Braconier (guitarist of Toontje Lager) joined the ensemble, and in September 2017 Jan Kolkman took his place - complete with accordion and harmonica.

Sunday afternoon, 3 January 2027 at Café de Cactus, Hengelo. Coffee from 14:00, performance starts at 15:00.
