Yellofox (Folk, Roots, Country, NL)
Yellofox, a folk-Americana band from The Hague, performs on Sunday afternoon, 8 November 2026, at Café de Cactus. They bring contemporary folk-Americana with a 1970s feel: bluesy, folky, and narrative-driven, with rich melodies and distinctive harmonies at the musical core. Their acoustic lineup - upright bass, cello, violin, guitars, mandolin, and drums - gives the sound its own character. Influences include Paul Simon, Gram Parsons, Nick Drake, Eels, and Fleet Foxes.
The press has been enthusiastic: FolkForum (2025) described them as "a surprise on the big stage" with "folk with a rocky edge - sometimes robust, occasionally lightly psychedelic, but always melodic, a kind of blend between English 1960s folk rock and the American West Coast sound of the 1970s." Musiscene (2023) praised both the arrangements and "the heavenly harmonies that lift the narrative songs to a high level." Heaven Magazine named their album album of the week (week 42, 2023) and called Yellofox "a welcome addition to the Dutch Americana scene."
