Tristan (Jazz, Funk & Soul, NL)

Dutch R&B band Tristan brings their eighth studio album Frou-Frou to Café de Cactus on Thursday, 8 October 2026. Released from April 2025, the album marks a refinement in their sound: a balance between creative freedom and dedication. The first two singles, Will You Ever Stay and Changes, charted on the UK soul charts and received airplay from London to LA and New York to Sydney. American Soultracks and British magazines Blues & Soul and Echoes have praised the album.

The band performs as a quintet, joined by vocalist Irma Derby - whose voice is compared to Randy Crawford and Donna Summer - and guitarist Glenn Black. Keyboardist Coen Molenaar co-wrote and appears on the Incognito album Into You. Earlier albums Full Power (2014) and 2nd Phase (2015) both reached number 1 on the British soul charts. Lifestyle (2016) was praised by Jazz FM and BBC Radio. Frou-Frou marks the start of an international tour across Europe and beyond.
