Jeffrey Halford & The Healers (Roots, Americana, USA)
Jeffrey Halford & The Healers return to Café de Cactus on Sunday afternoon, 27 September 2026, by popular request.
Frontman and guitarist Jeffrey Halford brings over thirty years of experience as a roots artist. He performs with Kevin T White (ex-Chuck Prophet's Mission Express) on bass and harmonies, and multi-instrumentalist/producer Adam Rossi, who handles drums, keys and vocals simultaneously. Together, this trio sounds like a full four-piece band, with a repertoire combining rock-'n-roll, country, blues and soul. Comparable to Taj Mahal, Los Lobos and The Band. The band has shared the stage with Joan Baez, Greg Allman and Etta James, among others.
Their discography includes eight albums, among them Kerosene (2000) and Hunkpapa (2002) - both recognized as "All Time Classic Albums" - and the internationally acclaimed concept album West Toward South (2019). This autumn they are touring for the Kerosene 25th anniversary; the vinyl reissue comes out on 29 August, with signed copies available during the tour. A new release is planned for mid-May/June 2026.
During their recent Dutch tour, they earned praise from programmers and audiences alike. CultuurCafé De Amer highlighted the intense emotion and Halford's socially conscious lyrics. Thiemeloods (Nijmegen) described it as an explosive mix of roots, blues, rock and pop. ABC Live Music Club (Doetinchem) called it "a performance of stature". Qbus Leiden named it a "rock & roll healing experience", and PopupPodium Almelo praised the band's perfect interplay and the swing with which they "set the bar extremely high for the season."
Showtime is 15:00; doors open from 14:00. Advance tickets: from € 15 (excluding service charges, including VAT and Buma/Stemra fees). At the door, if not sold out: € 20. Donors and Friends of Cactus Live can log into their account for special tickets.
