Tres Ríos is a four-piece collective of musicians from Mexico and Spain, led by multi-instrumentalist Leonardo Prieto. They play son jarocho, a musical tradition from the Veracruz region rooted in African, Spanish and indigenous influences. Their sound combines traditional string instruments - jarana, leona and requinto - with violin, double bass and zapateado rhythmic footwork. They are the first son jarocho ensemble based in the Netherlands.
