About

T. Raumschmiere is the project of Berlin-based producer, DJ and drummer Marco Haas (born 1975 in Heidelberg), co-founder of the influential Shitkatapult label. His self-coined sound - 'gnarz', named after the crackling loop of a vinyl runout groove - fuses techno, punk and noise into something that resists easy genre labels. Releases on Novamute, Kompakt and his own label earned him coverage in the New York Times and the Goethe-Institut, and he is widely credited with helping revive the schaffel beat in the mid-2000s.
