otay:onii, also known as Lane Shi (施明妤), is a Chinese-born musician, sound designer, film composer and installation artist based in Berlin. Her work moves between avant-garde electronics, industrial noise, Chinese folk music and performance art, which she fuses into theatrical live pieces. She was the first artist selected for Roadburn Festival's three-year triennium residency, and released her fifth solo album *Love Is in the Shit* on Pelagic Records in May 2026.
otay:onii released her fifth solo album *Love Is in the Shit* on May 8, 2026 via Pelagic Records, her debut with that label.
Simultaneously with the album release, Lane Shi joined The Ocean, the post-metal band that is the flagship of Pelagic Records.
otay:onii was artist in residence at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg for the second year in a row, this time with the commissioned project *Moonstruck Old Tales* - a retelling of Chinese folk songs with a full band.
In April 2025, otay:onii opened the first edition of her three-year Roadburn residency with an integral performance of her album *True Faith Ain't Blind* at the 013 in Tilburg.
In September 2024, her fourth solo album *True Faith Ain't Blind* (信仰看見了我看見了它) was released by WV Sorcerer Productions.
