Amsterdam Dub Event: Moritz von Oswald / Alpha & Omega e.a.
Moritz von Oswald and British dub duo Alpha & Omega perform at Melkweg. An evening of electronic music with two influential artists.
Moritz von Oswald is a German producer and percussionist, born in Hamburg in 1962, who became one of the defining figures of dub techno through his co-founding of Basic Channel with Mark Ernestus in Berlin. His alias Maurizio and the duo Rhythm & Sound - also with Ernestus - cemented his reputation for stripped-down, dub-inflected electronic music. Beyond those projects he leads the Moritz von Oswald Trio and has collaborated with Juan Atkins, Carl Craig and Laurel Halo, consistently pushing his sound into new territory.
Moritz von Oswald opened Dekmantel Festival 2025 in the Amsterdam Oude Kerk with a special performance of his Silencio project.
Von Oswald performed at Primavera Sound Festival 2025 in Barcelona.
Von Oswald released the album Silencio via Tresor Records, a collaboration with the 16-voice Vocalconsort Berlin.
He collaborated with the TLF Trio for the ep New Songs & Variations, released on the French label Latency.
