About

Marcel Dettmann (born 1977 in Pößneck, Germany) is a DJ, producer and label operator who grew up in the former GDR, with formative influences in new wave, post-punk and industrial music. He has held a residency at Berghain - and its predecessor OstGut - since 1999, becoming one of the defining voices of Berlin's techno underground. His releases span Ostgut Ton, his own MDR imprint and compilations for fabric, !K7 and Dekmantel, while his broader work includes remixes for Fever Ray and Moderat, a collaboration with the Berlin State Ballet and a contribution to the Matrix Resurrections soundtrack.
