Efdemin is the alias of Phillip Sollmann (born 1974 in Kassel), a Berlin-based DJ, producer and composer who built his reputation through Hamburg's Dial Records and a long-standing residency at Berghain and Panorama Bar. His sound draws on Detroit techno and deep house, delivered with a precise, hypnotic economy that has made him one of the most distinctive voices in European club music. Beyond the dancefloor, Sollmann pursues experimental and microtonal composition, including collaborations with Ensemble Musikfabrik.
Efdemin released the Mirror Phase EP on the Dutch label Dekmantel - four analog techno tracks that he describes as a tribute to the Detroit-Berlin legacy.
After six years of silence, POLY, his fifth studio album, appeared on the revived Berlin label Ostgut Ton.
New Atlantis, his fourth album on Ostgut Ton, combined for the first time his dancefloor work as Efdemin with his experimental projects under his own name.
