Iain Matthews is a British singer-songwriter who co-founded Fairport Convention in 1969, one of the key bands in British folk rock. His group Matthews Southern Comfort scored an international hit with a cover of Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock'. He has since pursued a long solo career alongside projects such as Plainsong, rooted in folk, roots and singer-songwriter traditions.
