Leoni Jansen - Jansen Jaagt

In her new solo programme, singer Leoni Jansen goes on a hunt - for precious moments, the beauty of nature, the finest songs, and solutions to relationship troubles and other discomforts. Philosophical answers to everyday questions, and everyday answers to philosophical ones: she seeks them all.

There is no waiting around. Jansen performs songs from the folk repertoire, Dutch-language songs, and gems from world music, weaving them together with comic musings and sharp observations. The result is a show about zest for life as a counterweight to the passage of time.

Leoni Jansen began her career as a television presenter - including the daily Jeugdjournaal and later her own programme Jansen & Co. She moved into singing and theatre, producing music theatre performances including a pyjama evening at the Concertgebouw and an opera celebration for children at Vredenburg. She also directed theatre productions for artists such as Room Eleven, Sensual and Giovanca.
