About
Hiromi Uehara (Hamamatsu, 1979) is a Japanese jazz pianist and composer who consistently blurs the lines between jazz, fusion, classical and progressive rock. She studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston under jazz legend Ahmad Jamal, and broke through internationally with her debut album 'Another Mind' (2003). Since then she has built a catalogue of thirteen studio albums and performed at the opening ceremony of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Her live shows are known for their relentless energy - she moves between grand piano and synthesizers, improvises freely, and pulls the audience into her musical world.
