Hiromi Uehara

Hiromi Uehara (born 1979 in Hamamatsu, Japan) is a Japanese jazz pianist and composer who has been reshaping the jazz landscape for over two decades with her technical virtuosity and boundless stage energy. She debuted in 2003 with Another Mind and has since built an impressive discography that seamlessly blends jazz, progressive rock, classical music and fusion. Her Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album (as part of The Stanley Clarke Band), a performance at the opening ceremony of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, and the film score for the anime Blue Giant - which earned her the Japan Academy Award for Best Music - confirm her standing as a global ambassador for jazz.
