About

Barbarito Torres is a Cuban laúd master and one of the most celebrated figures in Afro-Cuban music. Born in Matanzas in 1956, he rose to global fame as a key member of the Buena Vista Social Club - the collective that reignited worldwide interest in son cubano during the 1990s. His solo on 'El Cuarto de Tula' became one of the project's most iconic moments. As one of the last surviving original members, he continues to perform internationally with the Buena Vista All Stars.
