De Theatertroep - Four Cremations and a Divorce

A comedy with a touch of mourning, loosely inspired by the title (but really only the title) of the rom-com Four Weddings and a Funeral. Old acquaintances gather to pay their respects: mixed emotions, someone who cannot stop crying, another who laughs everything off, speeches that go on too long, and jokes made at the wrong moments. Who loved the deceased most? Who has the most right to grieve? Sorrow can bring people together - but it can also tear them apart.

The evening is filled with miscommunication, slapstick, inappropriate remarks, and hilariously awkward scenes. Nothing but good about the dead? De Theatertroep and writer Magne van den Berg think otherwise.
