Protect Me From What I Want - HYPERPOËZIE

What happens when a soft activist, a sympathetic storyteller and a diva search together for the origin of the world? In this literary punk evening, Mees van Rijswijk, Johannes Lievens and Marieke Ornelis return to the beginning: they watch videos about blood sausage production, bring an IKEA stool back to the Carpathians and dissect the first testament. Through stories, songs and poetry they ask: where did it all go wrong?

The evening functions as an improvised consumer watchdog, beyond the production processes of food and other consumer products. Answers are sought in conspiracy theories, myths and gossip. Protect Me From What I Want is a colourful attempt to question contemporary power structures by zooming in on the details.
