Mother Earth - Aluin

Mother Earth - Gaia - invites the Greek gods to an elaborate dinner. Lately she's been suffering from hot flushes and mood swings: one moment she wakes up drenched in sweat, the next she's freezing cold, then she bursts into uncontrollable tears or seethes with rage. Are gods not immortal? Or has her time come? The table is set for gods and titans to figure out who they can hold responsible for this.

The production was inspired by a banner from young climate activists at a demonstration: "My mother is already hot enough." That line stuck with creators Victorine Plante (director) and Erik Snel (writer) - because it speaks to a warming planet and a generation that feels things must change. From that single sentence grew a comedy about gods and humans, their good intentions, and their spectacular ability to make a mess of things.
