Patsy Kroonenberg - She Is Still Here
Werkplaats Walhalla, Rotterdam
Jellie Brouwer was a radio presenter at Kunststof and the mother of Patsy Kroonenberg. As a child, Patsy spoke to the radio, convinced her mother would answer back. Now Jellie is gone, and there is silence.
She Is Still Here explores that loss - coming home without the "yoohoo!", the gossip about famous Dutch people who can no longer go anywhere, the phone calls she can no longer make. But also the questions that keep arising: about children, about love, about staying cheerful while the world falls apart. Patsy searches for answers in the two thousand three hundred hours of interviews her mother left behind. In a room filled with white tiles of wisdom, she enters into conversation again - knowing that Jellie will always respond with a question of her own.
