Van Die Mensen - Grab 'n Go (premiere)

Pamela has found her ideal place: the Grab-n-Go, a convenience store at a petrol station. Stocking shelves, mopping floors, encouraged by singing shop products - that's all she needs. But her peaceful utopia comes under pressure when LED screens and self-checkout tills arrive.

Pamela refuses to accept that there is no longer a place for her in the new version of the Grab-n-Go. Until her last day of work, when motorchick Pim tries to get her on board with the rebranding. The performance follows two people with opposite views on change: one clinging to what she knows, the other never still long enough to put down roots.

Grab-n-Go is a music theatre performance about a person who prefers to keep her distance from a world that never stops rushing. Pamela's peaceful inner world - with her three-piece folk band of singing shop products - gradually escalates into a manic techno invasion, ending in the ashes of the Grab-n-Go.

Van Die Mensen (formerly Oopsie Daisy) is a young theatre collective of Andrea Vass, Paulien Foest and Sasha Kurensky. They won the Audience Prize at Werkplaats Walhalla Pitch 2025 and made their debut in 2025 with Broadway Baby at the Café Theater Festival, where they also won the Rotterdam audience prize.
