Laura van Dolron - Liefhebben Deel II
Laura van Dolron overheard three women talking in a monastery during a writing workshop. One of them mentioned wanting to lead a dance workshop for parents who had lost a child - and in the silence that followed, Van Dolron realized she herself was such a parent. The woman spoke about the 6-year-old girl she had lost. No one asked for the girl's name, or about her favorite stuffed animal. No one gave this mother the chance to bring her child back to life, even briefly, through words.
Liefhebben Deel II was created for her - and for everyone who knows what love or loss is. As a mother who lost a small child herself, Van Dolron created the first part of Liefhebben to comfort herself. For ten years she has performed it once a year, as a monument to love and the people we miss. Now there is part II, because she found so many new examples of love and because we all carry tears that want to fall.
The performance is a collage of love stories - an evening where laughter breaks through tears. On stage: Laura van Dolron and rotating guests each evening. Concept and text: Laura van Dolron | Dramaturgy: Celine Buren | Photography: Iris Duivenkot.
