Janine Kitzen "Late Autumn Songs"
Theater Landgraaf is making classical music more accessible and has given it a permanent place in its programming. Under the banner "Matinée Classique", performances are scheduled throughout the 2026-2027 season.
With "Late Autumn Songs", soprano Janine Kitzen and her ensemble close the autumn season. The programme ranges from light classical to pop.
Janine Kitzen studied solo singing (soprano) at the Maastricht Conservatory under Frans Kokkelmans, completing her degree in 2001 with diplomas in Performance and Teaching. She then spent a year studying Musical Theatre at the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg, studying musical theatre singing with Edward Hoepelman. In 1998 she won first prize in the television programme 'Una Voce Particolare' (Tros tv). She participated in acting workshops with Christiane Bruhn in Cologne and the international Opera Masterclass 'Acting for Singers' at the Jekerstudio in Maastricht.
Nationally and internationally, she performs as a soloist in classical concerts, operas, operettas and musicals. She played the lead role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera with Stage Entertainment Germany (Joop van den Ende) in Stuttgart for two years. She has also worked on productions in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Australia, Switzerland, Russia and Ghana.
