Plankton - The Human Lasted Only a Moment

A comic, confrontational and visually inventive performance with live piano, suitable for everyone from age 8 onwards.

In a whirling duet between humanity and its environment, "The Human Lasted Only a Moment" tells the 200,000-year history of our species - from the discovery of fire to the extinction of this dominant animal. Two actors play the earth in a classic tableau theatre with diorama-like sets: they make birds fly, waves sway and mountains grow. The third player, humanity, tries to gain control of that world. But the greater the urge to control, the more things go wrong: a tree stump breaks in half, a fall through the mountain landscape drags half the set with it, and even the velvet theatre curtain is not spared. What follows is a chain reaction of failure - hilarious and moving at once.

This performance is the final piece of Plankton's trilogy about the relationship between humans and nature, following "Around the Corner Lives a Bush" and "A Mountain Runs By". With playful humour, the solitary human is taken off the pedestal and made part of the ensemble again.
