Makiko Ito - Koro Koro

Koro Koro is an interactive dance performance for the very youngest: babies and toddlers from six months to eighteen months old. The name is Japanese for 'something rolling' - and that is exactly what the dancers and musicians do: they walk around, roll, glide and jump, surrounding the audience with sounds. They improvise on the spot in response to the movements and sounds of the children, creating a dialogue between artists and the very young audience.

Choreographer and dancer Makiko Ito creates interactive performances for young children with the Wonderland Collective. The musicians are not background accompaniment but play an essential role in contact with the audience.
