Marjolijn van Kooten - Aan mij zal het niet liggen

Marjolijn van Kooten performs her show 'Aan mij zal het niet liggen' (subtitled psychiatric cabaret) on Saturday, 12 December at 20:00 in Theater De Verbeelding. Known for sold-out shows about panic, worry and pills, she brings a dry, self-deprecating style that has become a genre of its own.

In this performance, she asks why we only appreciate life when someone dies or falls ill. Must people die before we feel truly alive? Black humour, sensitive songs and shameless stories - that is Van Kooten through and through.

The press was enthusiastic: I love theater wrote about "laughing at the darkness, at the discomfort, and perhaps a little at yourself", Theaterkrant spoke of "candid glimpses into the therapy kitchen that lead to recognizable laughter" and Dagblad vh Noorden called her "a theatre personality with thoughtful perspective".
