It is New Year's Eve. A young woman is about to set her house on fire - lighter in hand, hold music in her ears - when the helpline rings. That phone call is central to History of an Accident: a musical story about a woman in distress and a support worker trained to listen. But is listening enough to prevent a tragedy?

With three-part harmonies, minimalist bass lines and compositions that slowly crumble, PATROON sketches an intimate portrait of someone struggling to make real contact. This is the debut production of the Orkater/De Nieuwkomers ensemble PATROON, and explores what it means to truly listen.
