Marieke Heerema - Born for Nothing

In an abandoned factory hall, workers perform monotone rituals: one processes, another packs, a third removes what doesn't meet standards. The beings created are not considered alive or valuable, but merely products. No wonder, no doubt, no protest - only actions, distance, and automatism.

"Born for Nothing" moves between ecstatic trance and cold production process. The performance places the mechanics of endless manufacturing alongside the fragile beauty of nascent life, asking: what does it mean to treat living beings not as life, but as tools for use?
