Plankenkoorts + Legiana Collective Quartet
Plankenkoorts
With the salty sea breeze in their hair and a treasure map in hand, the pirates of Plankenkoorts are ready to hijack your party. The band takes the audience on a treasure hunt full of stories about mythical sea monsters and wild celebrations, armed with a large assortment of instruments and a generous dose of theatre. Original lyrics set to well-known songs give this pirate folk band its own distinctive character. Plankenkoorts is semi-acoustic and performs on stages, in living rooms and cafés.
Legiana Collective Quartet
Legiana Collective has built their own sound from various folk traditions, recognizable by the multi-part vocal arrangements of the singers with a surprising lineup of traditional acoustic instruments. The members come from the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark and Spain and once started performing in different formations on the street. They now play at international festivals such as Bout du Monde, Eurofolk, Millo Verde and Pelpass, and have performed at Paradiso, Mezrab, Grounds and Landjuweel.
For this performance at So What!, they appear in their original quartet formation, with cello, jarana jarocha, violin and double bass.
