THE COOK'UP x Grote Prijs Breda | Hip Hop Preliminary Round + Open Mic & Showcase | BRICKS Hip Hop

On Friday 23 October, Poppodium Phoenix combines two events in one evening: THE COOK'UP, an open stage for anyone who wants to perform or connect, and the preliminary round of the 'Hip Hop' category for the Grote Prijs Breda.

THE COOK'UP is open to rappers, producers, dancers and vocalists - from hip hop to R&B, Afro and funk. Take the mic, bring your USB or freestyle on the beats. There are two microphones, a DJ set and beats to freestyle on. You're also welcome as an audience member.

At the same time, a professional jury will judge the participants in the preliminary round of the Grote Prijs Breda. The finalists advance to Sunday 15 November at MEZZ, where they compete for the title 'Grote Prijs Breda 2026'. The winner receives a prize of € 1,000, an award, performances throughout Breda, free rehearsals at Phoenix and Sound Dog, and six months of professional guidance. The preliminary round is organized by POB Breda, Poppodium Phoenix, Bricks Hip Hop, Pier15, Sound Dog and Breda Barst.
